M407 is a non-polymer gear oil whose main ingredients are special mineral oil such as m509 and multiple ester-based synthetic base oils, with a balance of various functional additives.all viscosity grades are designed to fit relatively rough clearance transmissions.note that 85w140 differs from other viscosity grades in that its functional additives are balanced to better support lsd.
